Dawn - I like your photo of the plant sitting on the stone bench. Nice contrast between the sunlight and shade.
ABPascale - Your photo of the rose is amazing.
Holly - That yellow marigold is beautiful.
Dave 1 - I like your closeup of the fire, especially the close up of the rising embers. I regards to your question of how I get so close up, I have a macro lense for my Canon digital SLR. I set the ISO to 60 and shoot aperture priority to leave the lense open for as long as possible. tripod is a must.
Dark lovely D - I have to agree with Jerry, the photo of the shells is very nice.
Tara - I like the fine hairs on the shot of the zucchini - very nice.
Sheyanne - I like the B&W of your sister in the tall grass.

Fun with Macro :)

Good evening class!  I have been having a nice time getting some super close shots with the macro setting!  Here are 2 of my favorites so far-

This photo is untouched.  I love the clear condensation that accumulated in the rose petals!

Hi Dave - yes, it is a marigold, we have several colors in our garden and they are beautiful. I also have a problem with up-close photos sometimes. It takes a steady hand OR a tripod.

I cannot believe we are ending our 4th week of Photography I already!!! Here are a few more pictures that I took today.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do :)

This is the top of my congregation.  I liked the way the shadows marked this old building.

The contrast under this railroad bridge drew my attention.

I just loved this door.  Very different & I LOVE different!

 

Week 5 - (Macro Photography)

Hello everyone!

Here are some Macro photos that were taken this week around my house. I have to say, it was a little challenging in trying to get these perfect focused pictures. I didn't do too much in Picasa, just a little cropping to keep the beauty of the photos. I will post the rest on fotothing.com.

My son's eye.

I love flowers, but to name them, forget it.
A bed of light color purple on the side of the house is beautiful.
