Week Two

What a long week that was! Hurricane Irene certainly tried to hold me back from this course, but fortunately for me my camera was all charged up before we lost power so I was able to get some great shots of Lucy outside. I found it tough to pick only two photos to upload this week, I want to put them all up! You can see the ten I uploaded today on my fotothing page. I could only charge my phone in the car, so Lucy and I hung out there for a few hours where I was able to snap this shot of her peeking out the window. She was also very much into playing in the tree limbs that we removed from the house, the pile was over five feet high but that didn't stop her from diving right in! The last photo is my absolute favorite. I took it on the Monday after Irene. The storm blew lots of random debris into our yard, including these two weathered and very much faded American flags. Lucy loved waving them at everyone that passed by that day, and her little bit of patriotism was a great pick-me-up for everybody, especially after such a disaster. Just seeing her enjoy herself so much while everyone else was pretty much traumatized was very inspiring and even a little bit emotional.

  1. I also forgot to add that I will be posting links to a few photographers that I absolutely adore and am inspired by...I am waiting on permission from them. I love to look at my friend's photos on facebook and over time I have learned which friends have a great eye for a photo and which ones have no idea what they are doing. I am hoping to use these people as my "inspirations" as soon as I obtain permission which shouldn't take long or be a problem.

  2. You don't need permission to post a link to someone's shot already posted to the internet.. it is there for all to see, otherwise it wouldn't be published on the Web...

The bottom shot is precious... the sunlight shining through the flag in her right hand is perfect.
